During the colonial era, the Chagres River served as a significant transit route connecting the Pacific Ocean to the Caribbean Sea. It was traversed by Spanish settlers, pirates, and gold diggers, transporting immense wealth from one location to another; however, many never arrived at their intended destinations. Over time, their tales became submerged in these jungle-encircled waters, ultimately merging into the narrative of one of the modern world"s marvels: the Panama Canal.
